Retired Nba Star Dennis Rodman Arrested For Dui

|

Around 11 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, former NBA player Dennis Rodman was arrested for driving under the influence in Newport Beach. Authorities initially pulled Rodman over for a traffic violation near West Coast Highway at 11:11 p.m.

He cooperated with authorities during the arrest. Rodman spent the night in jail after failing field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer test. He was released from custody at about 6:15 a.m. the following morning of January 14.

Rodman was on probation during the time of his arrest. He has been on three-year probation since July 2016, when he was arrested for causing a car accident in Orange County and leaving the scene without exchanging information. He originally faced a minimum of two years in prison, but ended up with a three-year probation and misdemeanor charges.

Paul Meyer, Rodman’s attorney, said in a statement, “Dennis is taking this seriously, and will take positive steps to address his personal issues. He appreciates the professionalism of the Newport Beach Police Department.”

Rodman lives in Newport Beach. He retired from the NBA in 2000 after a successful career playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls, and other franchises.
