What do tacky t-shirts and drunk driving have in common?
These guys.
Harrison Wooten, 25, of Woodstock, Connecticut, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence this past Monday after he crashed his car into a wall. The incident itself was fairly typical for a DUI. What wasn’t typical, yet oddly fitting was Wooten’s t-shirt.
The t-shirt, which can be seen in his mugshot, bore the phrase, “Hold My Beer And Watch This.”
Wooten was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failing to drive in the proper lane, failure to have insurance and misuse of plates, according to the Associated Press.
Wooten was released from custody on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 20.
Less than a month ago, Elwood Gutshall, 44, of Pennsylvania was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence wearing a t-shirt which read, “Drunk Lives Matter.”
Officers pulled Gutshall over after they observed him commit multiple traffic violations. Gutshall’s blood alcohol content was later determined to be 0.217 percent, almost three times the legal limit.
Gutshall was charged with “DUI Highest Rate,” a classification for DUI offenders caught with a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent or higher.
Apparently drunk drivers getting busted while wearing all too apropos t-shirts is not a new phenomenon.
In 2015, a man by the name of Luciano Gutierrez was arrested on his 9th drunk driving charge while wearing a t-shirt which read, “Warning I Do Dumb Things.”
